How to turn 2020 into your best year yet!

"The beginning is always today." Mary Wollstonecraft

2020. What a crazy year it has been! At this point I have written off the rest of the year and am anticipating 2021 to hopefully start fresh. On that note I thought it would be amusing to look back at my "New Years" blog post and what I had set myself out to achieve in 2020.

Here is what I wrote....

"My approach for 2020 is to change up my small habits, the things I do daily on auto pilot that don't contribute towards my ideal life. I already know that the major changes will come and go and after years of practice I feel like I have those periods covered. Now it's time to focus on being present for those in between days, the mundane moments, the times spent alone and the time spent with others. It's those days and moments that are most common after all and provide the biggest opportunity for change."

Well if that wasn't a huge wake up call I don't know what is. I have gotten so caught up in the "2020 is doomed" vibe that I forgot that my goal for this year is not even a little bit affected by the global pandemic. In fact my goal should be easier to achieve, with less distractions and limited things to do being more present should be easier.

I am determined not to let 2020 go to waste and the words below sum up my goal for the rest of the year.

For the rest of 2020 you will break free

Break free from the old version of you, old patterns, relations not serving you, life habits not evolving you and programs instilled within you through your past self or past experiences.

It is time to start a blank slate, ready to create a new reality with a new mindset by embodying a new version of you every single day.

It will require you to own up and strive for your unique visions, dreams, and versions of reality, not the one your parent’s society or the people around you want for you.

You need to start owning up your free will to be whoever you want to be without being obliged to what you’ve been or practised up until now.

I am going to start by doing some self reflection using questions like the ones below. My brain is feeling so foggy so starting from the beginning is definitely needed!

My goal/vision is ……..

What do I want to do more of?

What do I want to do less of?

What’s working?

What isn’t working?

What are my priorities?

How is everyone else's year going so far?

Thanks for reading and don't forget to share your smile with the world today. ✌
