Bali Travel Diary 1 – Kuta

Good morning from beautiful Bali ☼

This is the first of my Bali Travel diary and I cant wait to share with you my experience so far!

Here are some super quick answers to some common questions

  1. I am here with my husband, 7 year old son and 5 year old daughter

  2. We are staying at the Bali Dynasty Resort

  3. We are staying here for 9 nights

  4. No set plans, we are just taking it as it comes

☀Day 1☀

We arrived in the afternoon after a really easy flight with our children (much to my surprise.) The airport was crazy and I definitely recommend organising a transfer before you arrive as it made the process so much easier. **TIP** You will have people trying to grab your bags to “help” you go to wherever you need to but this comes at a cost so be firm and say no, my son was totally confused and handed off 2 of our bags but our driver put a stop to it. It was a really quick trip back to the hotel and we spent the rest of the day exploring the resort before having an early night.

☀Day 2☀

We are so lucky to be walking distance to the markets and beach from our hotel so we went on a small adventure there. We briefly went to the markets and did some bartering for some new clothes for the family. It is SO cheap and we roughly ended up spending about $3.50 for each piece of clothing. The Balinese people are so friendly so the kids had so much fun talking to the locals and were really well behaved.

Kuta Beach

Okay so if you ever visit Kuta Beach prepare to be SWAMPED by people trying to sell you things, give you massages and do your hair and nails. They will literally start doing these things so again BE FIRM and say no unless you are like my daughter who ended up leaving Kuta beach with both her finger and toe nails painted, her hair braided and even had some new jewellery.

Jimbaran Beach Sunset Dinner

This is a must!! There are basically a whole bunch of restaurants along the beach that have tables and chairs set up in the sand and will serve you a beautiful dinner while you watch the sunset. I highly recommend the Lia Cafe if you are a seafood lover, the food is delicious, the service is great and you may even get the pleasure of the band coming to your table and playing some music. Here are a couple of photos from our evening there, it is nothing short of picturesque.

I hope you enjoyed my first of 8 Bali Diary entries! If you have anything you would like to see in my other entries please let me know.

Thanks for reading ☮
