4 Tips For When Life Throws You A Curve Ball

“We may encounter many defeats but we must not be defeated.” – Maya Angelou

Feel it. Grieve it. Be kind to yourself. – There is nothing healthier in life than to acknowledge what you are feeling. If you’re angry, disappointed, sad, frustrated or stressed that’s 100% okay and totally normal, in fact the more you try and resist your feelings, the stronger they get. Give yourself a mourning period, have a vent, binge watch your favourite TV show, eat some ice-cream or have a good cry and then move on.

Take tiny steps forward – Re-evaluate what you want,

maybe the curve ball was needed to prompt a fresh start. Focus on the things that

are in your control and set some small attainable goals to progress forward.

Remember fear and doubt is part of the process – Fear

and self-doubt commonly arise when we are forced to step out of our comfort

zone. Stepping outside of what we are most familiar with is where you’ll experience

the greatest growth. A fear of failure can prevent us from progressing, but

failure is also part of a healthy path to success.

Have faith – You can’t ever expect everything to go the way you planned. Curve balls are a normal and expected part of life and that’s okay! Trust that one day you will look back on these moments and understand why things happened the way they did. Everything serves a purpose and you’re going to be okay.
